Job summary

Tri-County Special Education Coop seeks an Instructional Paraprofessional to assist in supervision, care, and instruction of students with diverse needs under licensed staff.

Responsibilities include supporting classroom routines, maintaining confidentiality, recording data, and adapting activities to participate in classroom life, with emphasis on safety and respectful interactions with students and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Health and inoculation certificate on file at the Central Office.
• Meets Highly Qualified status: 1) Associates degree or higher; 2) 48 college credits; 3) Master Teacher Test.
• Desire to continue career improvement.

Responsibilities

• Adhere and support the philosophy, mission and policies of Tri-County and the school district.
• Provides basic supports to students in and/or outside of the classroom setting.
• Maintains student confidentiality.
• Adapt classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the teacher/therapist for the purpose of providing an opportunity for all special education students to participate in classroom activities.
• Implement classroom management plans and individual behavior plans consistently.
• Assist students with daily care activities (toileting, diapering, tube feeding, etc) for the purpose of providing appropriate care and/or developing daily living skills.
