Job summary

Rochester Public School District #535 is seeking a Special Education Educational Support Professional to assist students with IEP goals at the school site. Responsibilities include instructional support, behavior management, health support, data collection, and progress reporting under certified staff direction.

Position requires 60 college credits and/or a two-year degree, or completion of Paraeducator Assessments. Strong teamwork, reliability, and communication with staff are essential.

Qualifications

• 60 college credits and/or a two-year degree from an accredited institution.
• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Experience working with elementary age students is preferred.
• Computer skills are preferred for daily tasks.
• Flexibility and the ability to work as a cooperative team member.
• Positive rapport with children and ability to correct behavior fairly.

Responsibilities

• Follow student Behavior Intervention Plans and Emergency Healthcare Plans.
• Provide support for personal cares (toileting, dressing, feeding) as needed.
• Observe and document students' academic and social behaviors.
• Regular, on-time attendance is required.
• Provide feedback on student progress to classroom teachers and related services staff.
• Use devices for communication with non-verbal students.
• Move around to meet students at their level and support during meals, recess, and field trips.
