Job summary

Rochester Public Schools is seeking a dedicated ESP paraprofessional to support students with IEP goals at the school site. The role includes instructional support, behavior management, health support, data collection, and communicating academic progress to teachers and staff.

Candidates should have at least 60 college credits or a two-year degree (or complete the Paraeducator Assessments). A high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 60 college credits and/or a two-year degree from an accredited college or university.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Paraeducator Assessments available for those without college credits.
  • Experience working with elementary age students preferred.
  • Computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow student Behavior Intervention Plans and Emergency Healthcare Plans.
  • Provide support to students with personal cares (toileting, dressing, feeding) as needed.
  • Observe and document students' academic and social behaviors.
  • Consistent and accurate data collection of student progress on goals and objectives.
  • Provide feedback on student progress to classroom teachers and related services staff.
  • Move on and off the floor to meet students at their level and supervise at meals, recess, and on field trips.
