Job summary

Weymouth Public Schools is seeking an Education Support Professional - Special Education for Weymouth High School in Weymouth, MA. This role supports students with and without disabilities under general and SPED guidance to meet IEP goals in inclusive settings.

The Education Support Professional assists teachers, monitors progress, communicates with families and service providers, and applies behavior support plans to help students succeed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher required.
• Minimum two years of post-secondary education or 48 credit hours.
• Familiarity with Special Education/IEPs preferred.
• Experience with data collection and documentation preferred.
• Parapro or WorkKeys assessments may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Support students’ physical, academic, and behavioral needs.
• Implement Positive Behavior Support Plans.
• Manage aggressive behaviors with de-escalation and safety skills.
• Provide specialized learning techniques tailored to student needs.
• Monitor and document student progress and data.
• Use verbal and visual supports; model appropriate tasks.
• Assist classroom teachers with duties and collaboration.
• Coordinate communication between teachers and special education liaisons.
• Participate in district training and development.
• Perform other duties as assigned by administrators.
