Qualifications

• Coursework or classes in education, social work, or child development
• Experience supporting students behaviorally, academically and emotionally
• Experience with ABA methodologies, behavior plans and/or learning disabilities
• Safety Care Training preferred; training provided if not completed
• At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred
• Bachelor degree preferred
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Responsibilities

• Support student within and outside the general education classroom according to IEP or 504 Plan
• Work with the classroom teacher and assist in the classroom as the teacher deems appropriate, including breaks and modifications
• Assist students with mobility, transitions, self-care, and implementing IEP-related plans under supervision
• Implement PBIS strategies and maintain confidentiality with staff and students
• Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development as designated by the principal
