Job summary

Harmony School of Excellence - Houston (K-8) is seeking an Educational Assistant to support classroom teachers and students under direct supervision. You will work with small groups or individuals toward academic goals and help implement individualized education plans and data collection for ARD/IEP processes.

You will assist with differentiated instruction, classroom management, and supervision during breakfast, recess, lunch, and special events.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• 48 college hours preferred.
• Experience with children in education settings preferred.
• Texas Educational Aide Certification preferred or able to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with student goals by working with small groups or individuals.
• Enforce classroom management and behavioral plans to foster learning.
• Supervise students during breakfast, recess, lunch, dismissal, and events.
• Assist with ARD/IEP paperwork data collection for special education.
• Assist planning and implementing differentiated instruction for individuals or groups.
• May work in Life Skills or other special education settings; involve lifting, restraints, or toileting as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
