Job summary

Harmony School of Discovery – Houston seeks a dedicated Special Education teacher to support students with disabilities, adapting curricula for inclusion and resource room settings. Build engaging lessons and monitor progress to foster growth across intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development.

You will collect data to inform IEPs, collaborate with parents and staff, attend ARD meetings, and maintain compliant records while upholding Harmony Public Schools’ mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Texas teacher certificate in Special Education and content assigned.

Responsibilities

• Teaches multiple academic subjects in a resource room or provides in-class support through inclusion.
• Plans, prepares, and delivers lesson plans and instructional materials that maximize student engagement and learning.
• Utilizes diverse teaching practices to meet individual student needs.
• Collects data to determine student strengths and weaknesses and develops standards-based IEPs.
• Collaborates with parents, teachers and other staff in developing and implementing IEPs.
• Attends ARD meetings and prepares ARD paperwork; maintains records as required.
