Job summary

Harmony School of Discovery - Houston is seeking an Educational Assistant to support teachers and students in a 6-12 setting. You will assist with instructional tasks, classroom management, and supervision during meals and activities.

You will help prepare ARD/IEP paperwork and enter data, while facilitating differentiated instruction for individual students or groups. Flexibility to adapt to campus needs and CPI training may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or preferred? (from ad)
• Minimum of 48 college hours is preferred.
• Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
• Texas Educational Aide Certification is preferred or the ability to acquire it.

Responsibilities

• Assists teachers with student academic goals by working with small groups or an individual child.
• Assists teachers in enforcing classroom management and behavioral plans to create a learning environment.
• Assists with supervising students during breakfast, recess, lunch, dismissal, events, and programs.
• Assists teachers with preparing paperwork for ARD/IEP process and data entry for special education reports.
• Assists teachers with planning, preparing and implementing differentiated instruction for individual students and groups.
• Assignment may change throughout the year based on campus and student needs; CPI certification may be required.
