Job summary

Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD) seeks a Para-Educator to support students with disabilities in classrooms, community settings, or one-on-one. Under licensed staff guidance, you’ll assist with instructional, behavioral, and health-related activities to help students reach IEP/IFSP goals.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED; experience with students with special needs is preferred; must meet DHS clearance; physical ability to lift/move students is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college coursework in child development, education, psychology, or special education preferred
• Experience working with children/adults with special needs preferred
• Physical ability to lift/move students and perform essential duties
• Must meet Michigan DHS Child Abuse and Neglect Registry clearance

Responsibilities

• Support students with disabilities in classrooms, community-based experiences, or one-on-one settings
• Assist with instructional, behavioral, and health-related activities under guidance of certified staff
• Help students achieve IEP or IFSP goals
