Job summary

Sylvania is seeking staff to support students with disabilities in an Arizona school setting. The role involves assisting with IEP-related services, providing tutoring, and helping students with self-care and mobility as needed.

Includes medical task support under licensed providers, record keeping, and collaboration with teachers. A 9-month position with typical school hours and benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification required.
• Ability to receive CPI certification within 6 months.
• AZ Driver’s License.
• Finger Print Clearance.
• Any equivalent combination of training, education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and supportive environment so students with special needs may fully access their education.
• Accompany and assist students throughout the school day as needed by the IEP.
• Provide academic tutoring/remediation, 1:1 or small group settings under a certified teacher.
• May transcribe instructional materials into Braille as needed.
• Assist with self-care tasks including feeding, hygiene, dressing, mobility.
• Perform medical tasks under licensed providers’ direction, including catheterizations and gastric tube feeding.
• Maintain records and Medicaid billings.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as assigned.
• Assist with organizing activities, scheduling events, and processing paperwork.
• Support instruction of groups, monitor behavior, and help with assignments.
