Job summary

Vista College Prep in Phoenix, AZ seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students through co-planning, coteaching, inclusion, and pull-out services. You will develop IEPs/504 plans and collaborate with staff to differentiate instruction while upholding our school culture.

You will coordinate with related service providers, engage in curriculum development, and participate in annual staff training to support student mastery and growth.

Qualifications

• Mastery and enthusiasm for teaching academic content.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree, Special Education certification, and IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Foster positive student relationships through core values and social-emotional learning.
• Develop and implement rigorous, standards-aligned IEPs and 504 plans with targeted goals tied to grade level expectations.
• Teach and facilitate school-wide systems and procedures in alignment with our school culture.
• Serve as an inclusion teacher to support diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to differentiate curriculum and accommodations per IEPs/504 plans.
• Engage in collaborative curriculum development and school-wide functions.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues as a central focus.
• Review student data to address learning needs and monitor mastery.
• Manage all Special Education-related compliance and documentation.
• Coordinate with Student Success Team and contracted providers (SLP, OT, psychologist) as needed.
• Pursue ongoing improvement in instructional practices guided by the teacher performance rubric.
• Participate in annual staff training and community-building activities.
