Job summary

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is seeking a Substitute Teacher for the Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled program. You will design and implement individualized education programs, analyze learning styles, select appropriate activities, and participate in IEP team meetings to support students in various school settings.

Eligibility requires 60 semester hours or holding a Missouri Substitute Teacher Certificate or Missouri Teaching Certificate, plus CPR, AED

Qualifications

• Eligible with 60 semester hours or a Missouri Substitute Teacher Certificate or Missouri Teaching Certificate.
• CPR, AED and First Aid certification required.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement individualized education programs for students with disabilities.
• Analyze learning styles and adapt teaching strategies to student needs.
• Select age-appropriate activities and materials for instruction.
• Conduct IEP team and special education meetings.
• Coordinate behavioral support/intervention plans for challenging behaviors.
• Develop communication systems to support student learning.
• Create an efficient daily schedule to implement IEPs.
• Follow health care procedures and maintain a safe environment.
