Job summary

KIPP Academy Lynn Elementary School (KALE) in Lynn, MA is seeking a substantially separate lead teacher for a Special Education program. The role involves direct instruction in core areas, IEP case management, and collaboration with general educators to support students with high needs.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of teaching experience and a commitment to healing-centered pedagogy.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of full-time teaching experience (Special Education preferred).
• Bachelor degree preferred; MTEL/SEI endorsements encouraged.
• Experience with Special Education laws and paperwork is a bonus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead 1 to 4 content areas for a small group of students based on IEP goals.
• Develop and internalize daily lesson plans, rubrics, and assessments.
• Collaborate with counselors and team to implement Behavior Support Plans and monitor progress.
• Manage IEP processes (504/IEP) and communicate with families regularly.
• Demonstrate strong relationships with families and participate in professional development.
