Job summary

Cherry Creek School District is seeking a Severe Needs Teacher to develop coursework to support effective instruction for students with affective and severe needs at the school level. Assignments include Autism Classroom, Behavior Development (BD), Early Childhood Severe Needs, Integrated Learning Center (ILC), Severe Emotional Disability (SED), and Transition Programming.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and valid teaching license.
• Minimum three years of certified teaching experience.
• CDE teaching license and SPED endorsement needed.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention training required by district.
• Ability to align curriculum and assessments with standards.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in large, small, and one-on-one settings.
• Plan, prepare, and implement individualized instruction and curriculum.
• Administer, edit, and grade assignments and assessments.
• Design varied assessments to measure understanding and provide feedback.
• Create a positive classroom environment and manage behavior as needed.
• Monitor student progress and adapt support accordingly.
• Communicate student needs and progress with families and staff.
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to improve outcomes.
• Participate in department, team, and district meetings and conferences.
