Job summary

Iredell-Statesville Schools seeks an Exceptional Children: Resource Teacher for South Iredell High School in Statesville, NC. The role focuses on maximizing learning for students with special needs through district-aligned instruction, progress tracking, and individualized planning.

You will support IEP development, coordinate with staff and families, and maintain records while pursuing ongoing professional growth in special education practices within a collaborative school community.

Qualifications

• Certification/License: State Certification as a Special Education Teacher.
• Education: Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education.
• Experience: Successful prior special education teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maximize learning for students with special needs by implementing district curriculum and documenting progress.
• Participate in PPT meetings and assist in developing IEPs.
• Assist with implementing IEPs and behavior plans.
• Coordinate with outside agencies and authorities as needed.
• Communicate with parents and act as liaison between home and school.
• Maintain accurate student records and share information with colleges and employers as required.
