Job summary

Iredell-Statesville Schools seeks an Exceptional Children: Resource Teacher for Lakeshore Elementary in Mooresville, NC. The role focuses on maximizing learning for students with special needs by implementing approved curricula and maintaining accurate progress records.

You will support IEP development, collaborate with PPTs, and coordinate with families and outside agencies to ensure safe, effective instruction and ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education required.
• State Certification in Special Education required.
• Experience with IEPs and PPTs; ability to support behavior plans.
• Ability to manage student records and communicate with parents.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and diagnostic testing to identify learning issues.
• Participate in PPTs and develop Individual Educational Plans (IEPs).
• Assist students and staff in implementing IEPs and behavior plans.
• Coordinate with outside agencies and authorities as needed.
• Coordinate with administrators and teachers to identify student needs and share resources.
• Provide counseling and act as a liaison between home and school.
