Redbird Elementary is seeking an Instructional Assistant Special Education I - Resource for a part-time role. The position supports certified teachers and specialists in monitoring and instructing students with IEPs, assisting with daily living and health care activities, and handling routine clerical duties.

The role requires an Associate’s Degree or 60 college credits (or ParaPro test) and emphasizes collaboration with staff and parents to help students meet academic and behavioral goals.

Formación

• Associate’s Degree or 60 college credit hours required at time of hire OR pass the ParaPro Test provided by the district free of charge
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience working with children preferred

Responsabilidades

• Deliver, under teacher’s direction, classroom work/homework and reinforce objectives
• Assist in development of instructional materials and classroom maintenance
• Assist in data collection on academic and behavior goals
• Support positive behavior plans for students with challenging behaviors
• Respond to problem behaviors per student plans and district policy
• Assist with transfers and daily living activities as needed
• Support personal hygiene and daily living skills for students
• Accompany students during transitions across campus
• Monitor groups to maintain a safe, positive learning environment
• Perform general clerical tasks to support the teacher
