Job summary

Anova Education seeks a Special Education Coordinator to lead pupil personnel services within the district during a 200-day school year plus 17 additional days. The incumbent will supervise the special education process from referral to IEP implementation and work with the Director of Pupil Personnel Services to ensure efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required.
• DESE licensure - Special Education and Administrative License.
• SEI endorsement required.
• Three years of classroom teaching experience in supervisory grade levels; sped or related services considered.

Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance with IDEA and related special education law for students ages 6-22.
• Maintains electronic IEP database for assigned caseloads.
• Chairs IEP Team meetings and acts as LEA representative.
• Defines service proposals in case of team disagreement.
• Oversees development of IEPs for students with disabilities; coordinates services.
• Coordinates SPED services among teachers and providers; supports collaboration.
• Delivers professional development to SPED staff as needed.
• Supports admin in supervision/evaluation of SPED staff.
• Identifies staffing needs through data review with building admins.
• Reviews SPED data to drive improvements in student achievement.
• Establishes relationships with families and coordinates scheduling/servicing of SPED students.
