Job summary

SER Metro-Detroit's YouthBuild Learning Academy seeks a Student Services Coordinator to coordinate and supervise special education programs district-wide. The role provides leadership for program development and ensures compliance with state and federal mandates, collaborating with building administrators and district leadership.

Required: Master’s degree in Special Education with at least five years of experience, demonstrated leadership in program development, and excellent communication

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Special Education and at least 5 years of leadership experience.
• Demonstrated leadership in special education program development and coordination.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible to pass a background check.
• Experience with online learning in special education is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate development and supervision of special education programs, services, and staff across campuses.
• Assist in recruitment, selection, and recommendations for hiring of special education staff.
• Ensure programs comply with IDEA, MARSE, and 504 requirements.
• Provide liaison between school, families and community resources to support students with disabilities.
• Stay current on laws and best practices related to special education services.
