Job summary

SER Metro-Detroit is seeking a Student Services Coordinator to oversee and coordinate district-wide special education programs and services for SYLA. This role requires leadership across campuses and ensures programs align with state and federal mandates.

The ideal candidate will drive program development, evaluate services, and collaborate with building administrators and families to support students with disabilities. A Master’s in Special Education and 5+ years’ experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Authority to supervise Special Education per Michigan rules.
• Experience coordinating district-wide special education programs.
• Strong leadership and communication skills for staff and families.
• Knowledge of IDEA, MARSE and 504 requirements.
• Background check and valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise special education programs and staff across campuses.
• Lead recruitment and recommendations for hiring special education personnel.
• Ensure programs comply with state and federal requirements.
• Provide leadership to evaluate and modify programs to meet student needs.
• Collaborate with administrators and families to ensure inclusive services.
