The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) invites applications for the Long-Term Substitute Special Education Coordinator at the Child & Career Development Center in Coatesville, PA. This temporary role ends June 7, 2026, with potential extension.

The Coordinator provides embedded instructional leadership, ensures IEP compliance, and advances student achievement through coaching and targeted technical assistance. A collaborative, high-expectations culture is fostered.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in Educational Leadership or related field required.
Minimum of 5 years successful teaching experience in special education required.
Experience with formal teacher evaluation, curriculum implementation, and professional development delivery preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct frequent classroom walkthroughs and provide coaching to teachers and support staff.
Support implementation of evidence-based instructional practices aligned with IEPs and curricular standards.
Collaborate with instructional coaches, department chairs, and related service providers to promote instructional consistency.
Participate in data reviews to support teachers in analyzing student data and developing instructional strategies.
