Job summary

ICEF Public Schools in Los Angeles, CA, seeks a Manager of Special Education to lead and supervise the district's SPED staff, ensure high-quality instructional practices, and oversee IEP implementation.

This on-site role reports to the School Principal and collaborates with the central special education team. The position requires California credential and 5+ years of SPED leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing IEPs with strong compliance
• Leadership experience in SPED settings and teams
• Strong communication and collaboration with general education staff
• Knowledge of IDEA and California special education law
• Experience with MTSS and inclusive practices

Responsibilities

• Serve as administrative designee in IEP meetings and ensure compliance
• Supervise and coach SPED teachers and allied staff
• Provide instructional coaching and PD focused on IEP implementation
• Oversee curriculum alignment for Special Day Class settings
• Coordinate with central SPED team to ensure policy consistency
• Manage caseloads, goal development, and family communication
• Lead weekly SPED team meetings and support behavior planning
