Job summary

Applitrack at Methuen High School in Methuen, MA is seeking a dedicated Special Education Assistant to support students with intensive needs across classrooms, electives, lunch and movement throughout the building. Qualifications

• SPEDIAC training preferred
• Associates Degree preferred
• Program Assistant training, experience or equivalent is desired
• Enjoy children and be capable of using good judgment in working with students and instructional staff assigned to the program
• Ability to communicate with TEAM members and work cooperatively as student dictates and maintains a safe and secure educational environment

Responsibilities

• Support students with disabilities in inclusive and substantially separate settings
• Needs to assist with a behavior plan implementation
• Provide academic support as needed
• May need to support feeding and toileting need
• Monitoring for attention, work completion and social navigation
• Perform duties as assigned by school administration
• Perform other duties as per the building supervisor
