Job summary

Methuen Public School District is seeking a Support Staff/Special Education Assistant to help students with intensive needs throughout the day in a school setting. Responsibilities include data collection, academic support, and assisting with behavior plans, feeding, and toileting as needed, in both inclusive and substantially separate settings.

Ideal candidates will have SPED training or related experience, an Associate's degree preferred, and strong teamwork and communication with staff to

Qualifications

SPED training or related experience preferred.
Associates Degree preferred.
Program Assistant training/experience or equivalent is desired.
Enjoy children and use good judgment when working with students and staff.
Ability to communicate with TEAM members and work cooperatively in a safe educational environment.

Responsibilities

Support students with disabilities in inclusive and substantially separate settings.
Assist with behavior plan implementation.
Provide academic support as needed.
May assist with feeding and toileting needs.
Monitor attention, task completion, and social navigation.
Perform duties as assigned by school administration.
Support data collection and documentation as required.
