Job summary

Applitrack at Methuen High School in Methuen, MA is seeking a dedicated Special Education Assistant to support students with intensive needs across classrooms, electives, lunch and movement throughout the building. The role involves data collection, behavior support, and close collaboration with instructors and staff using assistive technology such as iPad apps.

SPED training is preferred; an Associate's degree or Program Assistant training/experience is desired.

Qualifications

• SPEDIAC training preferred
• Associates Degree preferred
• Program Assistant training, experience or equivalent is desired

• Ability to communicate with TEAM members and work cooperatively as student dictates and maintains a safe and secure educational environment

Rate of Pay: $125 per day

Position Purpose Assist student with intensive special needs throughout the day in class, electives, lunch and movement throughout the building at all times in a substantially separate setting, maintain very close proximity, collect data, closely monitor student throughout the day across all settings, provide academic support as needed, toileting assistance, monitoring for attention, work completion and social navigation, must be very comfortable with using assistive technology including iPad and various apps for communication needs of students, physical support of students may be required, able to take data on behavior plan, team player, flexible in taking direction to assist student as needed.
