Responsibilities

• Monitor student(s) individually, in small or large groups per assignment.
• Lift, stabilize, and assist students per IEP/504 or medical plans.
• Assist with personal care such as toileting, hygiene, seizures, lunch and recess.
• Support in a self-contained special education classroom.
• Maintain confidentiality and enforce classroom behavior as directed.
• Provide leadership by supporting school discipline and safety.
• Assist with classroom management and small-group instruction.
• Utilize assistive technology as needed for student instruction.
• Attend required CPI training and related refreshers.

Job Description

External applications will be accepted until filled.

Assignment Location: AES Special Education Paraprofessional with One-on-One Duties (see the Director of Special Education for specific details of assignment)

*Please note: Special Education Paraprofessionals will be assigned each school year based on student and district needs. Building location, classroom assignment and report times may change.

Contract Hours:5.75-hours per day, 9-month contract

Report Times: 9:30 am to 3:15 pm for the 2026-2027 school year(report times are based on the building schedule and are subject to change)

Salary: $15.73 starting hourly rate following the OAPSE negotiated agreement with annual step increases

Reports To: Building Principals and the Special EducationDirector

Evaluations: Performance is evaluated annuallyper the OAPSE negotiated agreement

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor student(s) individually, in small or large groups,ina variety of circumstances relating to the school environment
• Lifting, stabilizing, and assisting student(s) in accordance with IEP, 504, or medical action plans
• Assist with special care of students such as toileting, personal hygiene, seizures, recess, and lunch
• Ability to assist in a self-contained special education classroom
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Provide leadership by enforcing pupil behavior set forth by the building principal
• Ensure that students are in a safe, secure environment at all times
• Employ a variety of strategies to manage student behavior and conflict
• Assist withclassroom management duties,including small group instruction
• Attend CPI training and refreshercoursesas assigned.

• Must possess technology skills to assist the studentwith assistive technology
• All otherduties consistent with the attached general job descriptionas assigned by the Building Administrators, Special Education Director,Superintendent, or designee
