Qualifications

• Rapback Enrollment through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
• Ohio Auditor of State Fraud Training and Reporting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor student(s) individually or in groups in various school environments.
• Assist in a self-contained special education classroom.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Enforce pupil behavior per building principal instructions.
• Ensure students are in a safe, secure environment.
• Employ strategies to manage behavior and conflicts.
• Assist with classroom management and small group instruction.
• Attend CPI training as assigned.
• Possess computer skills to assist students or for clerical duties.
• Operate office equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by administrators.

OAPSE transfer bid requests via internal applications will be accepted until 2:00 pm on 8/21/2026
External applications will be accepted until filled.
Position available due to the resignation of Hattie Shank.

Assignment Location: AMS Resource Room (see the Director of Special Education for specific details of assignment)
*Please note: Special Education Paraprofessionals will be assigned each school year based on student and district needs. Building location, classroom assignment and report times may change.

Contract Hours:5.75-hours per day, 9-month contract
Report Times: 9:00 am to 2:45 pm for the 2026-2027 school year(report times are based on the building schedule and are subject to change)
Salary: $15.73 starting hourly rate following the OAPSE negotiated agreement with annual step increases
Reports To: Building Principals and the Special EducationDirector
Evaluations:Performance is evaluated annuallyper the OAPSE negotiated agreement

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor student(s) individually, in small or large groups,ina variety of circumstances relating to the school environment
• Ability to assist in a self-contained special education classroom
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Provide leadership by enforcing pupil behavior set forth by the building principal
• Ensure that students are in a safe, secure environment at all times
• Employ a variety of strategies to manage student behavior and conflict
• Assist withclassroom management duties,including small group instruction
• Attend CPI training and refreshercoursesas assigned.
• Must possess computer skills to assist students with computers or when performing clerical duties
• Operate office equipment
• All otherduties consistent with the attached general job descriptionas assigned by the Building Administrators, Special Education Director,Superintendent, or designee
