Starting wage is $15.73 per hour with annual step increases per the OAPSE agreement. Reports to Building Principals and the Special Education Director; evaluations follow the OAPSE contract.

Qualifications

• Must have valid BCII and FBI background checks on file before starting.
• OEA permit with ESEA endorsement required.
• Completion of required compliance training courses.

Responsibilities

• Monitor students individually or in groups in various school settings.
• Assist in a self-contained special education classroom.
• Maintain confidentiality and enforce classroom behavior as directed.
• Support with classroom management duties and small group instruction.
• Attend required CPI trainings as assigned.
• Perform clerical tasks and assist students with computer use.

2026-2027 Assignment Area*: AES Preschool- Grant-Funded

*Please note: Special Education Paraprofessionals will be assigned each school year based on student and district needs. Building location, classroom assignment and report times may change. Grant-funded positions are evaluated each year and are contingent on available funding.

Contract Hours:9-month; 28-hours per week(7-hours Monday through Thursday)

Report Times: 8:30 am to 3:30 pm; Monday through Thursday for the 2026-2027 school year*(report times are based on the preschool schedule and are subject to change)

Salary: $15.73 starting hourly rate with annual step increases following the OAPSE negotiated agreement

Reports To: Building Principals and the Special EducationDirector

Evaluations:Performance is evaluated annuallyper the OAPSE negotiated agreement

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor student(s) individually, in small or large groups,ina variety of circumstances relating to the school environment
• Ability to assist in a self-contained special education classroom
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Provide leadership by enforcing pupil behavior set forth by the building principal
• Ensure that students are in a safe, secure environment at all times
• Employ a variety of strategies to manage student behavior and conflict
• Assist withclassroom management duties,including small group instruction
• Attend CPI training and refreshercoursesas assigned.
• Must possess computer skills to assist students with computers or when performing clerical duties
• Operate office equipment
• All otherduties consistent with the attached general job descriptionas assigned by the Building Administrators, Special Education Director,Superintendent, or designee
