Job summary

Centennial School District 12 is seeking a 6.5-hour Special Education Paraprofessional to support transition students 18-22 at Journey programs in the High School. The role focuses on on-site skill development, supervision, and liaison duties between instructors and worksite staff.

Responsibilities include assisting instructors, supporting IEP implementation, communicating changes, providing personal cares as trained, and collecting data on student goals. Training provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Two years of college credits (60 credits) through an accredited institution.
• Associate's degree or higher required.
• Passing score on ParaPro or Paraeducator Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Journey Instructors with classroom operation and work with individuals or small groups.
• Assist with the implementation and follow-through of the student's IEP plan in all settings.
• Communicate changes in tasks or concerns from a workplace supervisor to the work coordinator and instructors.
• Perform personal cares as trained, including changing, feeding, and transferring students.
• Perform other reasonably related duties as requested.
• Provide effective support to promote independence in the classroom and at worksites.
• Data collection/tracking on individual student goals and progress.
• Support the implementation and management of student communication devices.
