Kansas City Public Schools is hiring a Paraprofessional for Special Education for the 2024-2025 school year. The role supports teachers, assists in implementing IEPs, and fosters student growth in social, academic, and daily living skills.

The position is full-time, on-site, 7 hours per day, 212 days per year, with ASL support for DHH assignments and collaboration with families. Minimum qualifications include 60 college credits or an associate degree, plus Missouri ParaPro/Paraprofessional

Qualifications

• Sixty (60) college credit hours.
• Associate's degree or higher.
• Missouri ParaPro Assessment passing score (before September 23, 2013).
• Missouri Paraprofessional Assessment passing score (September 23, 2013 and after).
• Completed Missouri's 20-hour online substitute training program.

Responsibilities

• Work with teachers in team teaching, planning, and daily routines.
• Provide group instruction to assigned children.
• Implement individual and group activities per IEP.
• Assist in preparing and setting up daily materials.
• Collaborate with parents, volunteers, and staff.
• Provide personal care as needed for students.
• Lift and transfer students safely.
• Use technology to support learning.
• Support in DHH assignments using ASL when required.
