Job summary

Center School District in Kansas City, MO seeks a Special Education Paraprofessional to assist in supervision, care and instruction of students with special needs across regular, resource, or self-contained settings.

Under certified staff direction, you will implement IEP-related plans, monitor behavior, help with personal care, and support data collection and classroom clerical tasks. Experience in education preferred; a high school diploma and required credentials are expected.

Qualifications

• Adhere to safety practices in all tasks.
• Operate standard office equipment and district-approved software.
• Prepare and maintain accurate student records and documentation.
• Use district-approved crisis intervention techniques as needed.

Responsibilities

• Adapt and provide accommodations to activities under teacher direction.
• Assist students in and out of classroom and during activities for participation.
• Support students with personal care needs to enable school participation.
• Attend meetings and trainings to stay updated on requirements and strategies.
• Collaborate with staff to share progress and concerns relative to IEPs.
• Implement behavioral plans and educational programming under supervision.
• Instruct students in activities to meet IEP goals in group or individual settings.
• Maintain instructional materials and data sheets for progress tracking.
• Monitor student safety in various school environments.
• Provide administrative support and record-keeping as needed.
