Job summary

Performance Academies in Toledo is seeking a dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team. You will assist teachers, provide one-on-one and small-group support, and help implement IEP goals in a structured, inclusive environment.

This role emphasizes collaboration with teachers and families, classroom and behavior support, and adherence to safety and confidentiality. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with an Ohio Educational Aide Permit or ability to obtain one;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s in Education preferred.
• Current Ohio Educational Aide Permit (or ability to obtain).
• Successful completion of required state and federal background checks.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace, email, and basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering classroom instruction and reinforce academic skills.
• Provide one-on-one and small-group instructional support to students.
• Support students with disabilities in implementing IEP goals, accommodations, and activities.
• Assist with classroom preparation, learning materials, and instructional activities.
• Promote positive student behavior and assist with classroom management.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to meet students' needs.
• Follow school policies, safety procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
