Job summary

National Heritage Academies in Springfield, MI is seeking an Title I Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities under the direction of the special education team. You will work 1:1 or in small groups to assist instructional and behavioral goals, following IEP and 504 plans.

You will participate in professional development, assist with compliance documentation, and help create a safe, inclusive classroom environment aligned with school values and ongoing student progress.

Qualifications

• Must meet state requirements for Title 1 paraprofessional.
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities and behavior modification preferred.
• Ability to defuse situations and prevent escalation.

Responsibilities

• Assess student abilities and provide instructional and behavioral assistance for students in accordance with their IEP and/or 504-behavior plan; 1:1 or in small groups.
• Commit to educating the whole student – academically, morally, and socially.
• Implement result-driven curriculum and instruction designed to meet the unique needs of each student.
• Attend professional development, specialized trainings and IEP meetings with special education team and parents.
• Assist with the required compliance documentation.
