Job summary

Fernley Intermediate is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to assist licensed teachers in delivering specially designed instruction to students with disabilities. The role includes supporting living, academic, vocational, and behavioral skills, and providing personal care assistance as needed.

The position emphasizes data collection, behavior monitoring, and collaboration with IEP teams to implement individualized education programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver's license and DMV clearance required.
• Specialized training as needed to meet IEPs will be provided or required.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with tasks per IEP and instructional plans.
• Support individual and small-group learning under direct supervision of a licensed teacher.
• Participate in data collection and reporting on student progress.
• Assist with personal care and classroom technology as needed.
• Follow safety standards and support positive behavior management.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Current Crisis Prevention and Restraint Training, First Aid, and CPR Training
