East Baton Rouge Parish School System is seeking a Paraprofessional to support teachers and students with disabilities in a special education setting. You will assist in implementing classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management, and instructional activities under the supervision of a certified teacher and school principal.

The role involves preparing instructional materials, maintaining a neat classroom, assisting with records, and aiding substitutes.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of college credit hours (48 credits) with required courses.
• Associate's degree or higher, or a minimum ETS Parapro Exam score of 450.

Responsabilidades

• Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials and displays.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of classroom equipment.
• Assist teachers in maintaining administrative records and required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Assist students with physical disabilities per needs, including transfers and positioning.
• Assist students with personal care and hygiene as trained.
• Help manage student behavior and intervene in crisis situations.
• Develop motor skills with individual students or small groups.
• Supervise students during school hours, including lunch, bus, and playground duties.
• Keep teachers informed of students' special needs or problems.
• Participate in staff development, meetings, and events as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding personnel and students.
• Follow safety rules and district policies.
• Attend work regularly to avoid disruption.
