Job summary

Chapel Hill Elementary School is seeking a Paraprofessional, Special Education to support students with academic and behavioral goals. You will work under a certified teacher to implement lesson plans, reinforce content, and promote high expectations in a structured environment.

Responsibilities include small group and 1:1 instruction, progress monitoring, data collection, and ensuring IEP accommodations are followed. Strong communication and collaboration with team members are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
• An associate degree or higher from a PSC-approved college or university.
• 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours of college with GPA 2.0+ from PSC-approved school.
• Valid PSC-approved paraprofessional certificate is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instructional support to students under the supervision of a certified special education teacher.
• Deliver small group and/or individualized instruction per lesson plans.
• Assist with classroom management to maintain an effective learning environment.
• Assist with assessment and recordkeeping for student performance.
• Develop and organize instructional materials and ensure availability before lessons.
• Support progress monitoring and data collection under supervision.
• Implement accommodations and modifications per IEPs and maintain FERPA confidentiality.
