Job summary

Buckeye Elementary School District seeks a Paraprofessional A- Self Contained/Side-by-Side to assist special education teachers with individualized instruction and IEP implementation. The role involves supervising students, supporting personal care, and helping with adaptive equipment in various settings, including inclusion and playgrounds.

Responsibilities include preparing materials, aiding therapists, tracking progress, and maintaining a safe classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Must obtain and maintain AZ DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• High School diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Certification in Nonviolent Physical Crisis Intervention, CPR and First Aid.
• Experience with school-aged children (preferred).
• Experience with children with various disabilities (preferred).
• Special training in adaptive equipment may be required.
• Ability to speak fluent Spanish (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with instruction, materials, and classroom setup.
• Provide services in regular, ESL, special needs, or side-by-side settings.
• Supervise in playground, lunchroom, lavatory, bus areas, and transport as needed.
• Assist inclusion in regular classrooms and with personal hygiene needs.
• Support therapists and supervise safe learning environments.
• Prepare instructional materials and learning centers under supervision.
• Record and monitor student progress and maintain records.
