Job summary

Sweetwater County School District #1 seeks a Special Programs Paraprofessional to support Rock Springs High School students daily. You will assist with instruction, collect IEP data, manage classrooms, and help with student hygiene tasks when needed.

Position is 9 months/year, part-time up to 29 hours/week, with a salary of $25.95 per hour. Reporting to the Building Principal, the role emphasizes confidentiality and teamwork in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Must meet knowledge of teaching and learning process.
• Ability to implement lesson plans and present material.
• Experience in managing classroom behavior in a supportive setting.
• Strong communication skills with students, staff and families.
• Capable of following written and oral instructions precisely.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing teacher plans for students in all areas daily.
• Collect data on IEP goals and objectives for individuals.
• Support supervision and classroom management per plan.
• Assist with student hygiene tasks when appropriate.
• Ensure assistance staff are in assigned instructional areas.
• Prepare classroom materials and equipment for programs daily.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.
• Discuss situations at appropriate times with supervisor.
• Use positive verbal and non-verbal communication with all stakeholders.
• Locate and organize instructional materials as directed.
• Correct assignments with given answer key as directed.
• Intervene in crisis/emergency situations per direction.
• Seek additional tasks when work is complete.
• Cover regular classrooms as assigned by supervising teacher.
• Perform any duties as assigned by resource room teacher or administrator.
• Participate in additional training to increase knowledge.
