Job summary

Roaring Fork School District is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support classroom teachers under principal supervision. The role includes supervising students, assisting with instruction, managing classroom behavior, and aiding with IEP-driven plans.

Additional duties cover medical support under supervision, adapting tasks per case manager, and promoting safety and orderly routines throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Pass paraprofessional test or possess an associate's degree
• English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation
• Classroom management
• Basic computer knowledge
• Ability to perform clerical duties
• Time management
• Communicate clearly and concisely
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Monitor and record student data

Responsibilities

• Under direction of a principal or assistant principal, paraprofessional assists with supervision and instruction of students per IEP
• Provide support in all areas of the classroom and assist with instruction and management
• Assist in covering the class and enforcing classroom rules
• Supervise students in hallways, lunchroom, playground, and assemblies
• Assist in proctoring tests and preparing instructional materials
• Conduct small group and individual instruction as per lesson plans
• Assist with routine classroom housekeeping tasks and data recording
• Monitor progress and communicate with students, parents, teachers and administrators
• Administer basic medical support under supervision and adapt work per case manager
