Job summary

Parowan High School in Utah is seeking a Part Time Level I Special Education Paraprofessional to work 27.5 hours per week. This position will remain open until filled.

The Part Time Level I Paraprofessional works under the direction of the Special Education Teacher to provide education services and support to students with disabilities. They provide instructional support to students, assist with behavior observations, materials, classroom management, and supervise students.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work 27.5 hours per week.
• Support students with disabilities under supervision.
• Strong instructional support and behavior observation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides instructional support to students and groups to reinforce learning activities.
• Assists in observing and recording behavior and reinforces appropriate behavior.
• Assists teachers with presentation of learning materials and exercises.
• Participates in classroom management systems and routines.
• Guides students in harmonious interaction with peers.
• Supervises students in all areas of the school.
• Maintains regular, reliable attendance and job performance.
• Operates office equipment such as computers and copiers.
• Monitors students inside and outside during lunch hour.
• Familiar with Google Docs and email; willing to learn other systems.
