QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred 2 years previous successful experience with children as a Teacher Assistant or equivalent, including 1 year experience with Second Language Acquisition students for bilingual applicants. Clerical skills appropriate to duties of position. Valid community First Aid and CPR card (or acquire within 6 months of hire). Bilingual applicants must demonstrate proficiency in Spanish and English as determined by District assessment. Bilingual applicants must have training in Second Language Acquisition or instruction or begin training within 6 months of hire. Training required to meet accreditation standards. Small Vehicle Operator permit if required. Group Leader qualified by Department of Social Service if applicable. TB test and physical exam (acquired within 6 weeks of employment), if applicable. Must be highly qualified according to No Child Left Behind Act
