Job summary

School District 27J is seeking a paraeducator to provide direct academic and behavioral support for students with disabilities. You will modify materials, assist teachers, collect data, and help implement life skills and personal care as delegated by the nurse.

You will work with the Special Education team in both inclusive and special education settings, ensuring safety and progress through consistent routines and documentation.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as IEPs and behavior plans.
• Ability to collect data, write routine reports and simple correspondences.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Background check and post-offer physical required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and academic support in IEP-aligned settings.
• Modify materials and classroom environment under supervision.
• Identify peer relationships and natural supports.
• Implement behavior plans and monitor student safety in school and activities.
• Maintain forms and communicate progress with teachers and therapists.
• Attend trainings and student staffings as required.
