Job summary

Montrose County School District (MCSD) is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional - Significant Needs Support for Cottonwood Elementary School. The role involves assisting with intensified learning experiences, supporting students with complex needs, and handling health-related tasks under supervision.

The position is a limited-term, non-exempt role with a 180-day calendar. Start date is as soon as possible, with a closing date of 10/14/2026.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Desirable: 48 credits, an Associate's degree, or proficiency shown by district tests.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructional personnel with presentation of learning materials.
• Tutor individuals or small groups to reinforce learning activities.
• Monitor and assist students during drill, practice, and study activities.
• Direct students to safe activities and help shape appropriate social behaviors.
• Assist in managing student behavior using positive strategies.
• Prepare instructional materials and learning aids for groups or individuals.
• Maintain confidential student records and related files.
• Operate instructional media machines and equipment as needed.
• Contribute to an orderly, positive learning environment.
• May participate in parent conferences and progress reports.
