Job summary

ROCORI Public School District is seeking a Paraprofessional in a long-term substitute role to support teachers and students in special education settings. You will implement lesson plans, provide close supervision, reinforce learning, and assist with IEPs and daily activities within the school environment.

The role requires collaboration with teachers, staff, and families, along with the ability to adapt to individual student needs and program requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• Experience with paraprofessionals and special needs students preferred.
• Knowledge of practices, methods and techniques used in classroom teaching.
• Ability to use standard classroom equipment and technology and learn specialized equipment and software.
• Experience using office equipment and computer hardware/software.

Responsibilities

• Guides and assists students with lesson plans and records results.
• Instructs students in getting to classes and activities.
• Monitors student behavior and applies discipline and positive reinforcement.
• Assists teachers with projects and prepares materials.
• Types and uses computers as directed by teachers and staff.
• Supports students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Provides work skill training and job coaching as identified in IEPs.
• Other duties as assigned.
