Job summary

Evanston/Skokie School District 65 is seeking a Long Term Substitute Paraprofessional to support instructional programs and assist in supervising and instructing students with special needs in regular or self-contained classrooms. The role reports to the Principal and requires strong collaboration with teachers and support staff.

Responsibilities include adapting activities, administering tests, providing health-related assistance, attending IEP meetings, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Paraprofessional License is required.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under supervision to support objectives.
• Administers tests, homework and make-up work to support teachers.
• Provides first aid and medical assistance as needed.
• Assists medically fragile students with hygiene.
• Attends meetings and trainings to stay informed of job duties.
• Communicates with staff and parents to evaluate progress and implement IEP objectives.
• Implements behavioral plans designed by IEP team.
• Maintains instructional materials and records for mandated requirements.
• Monitors students for safety in various environments.
• Provides instruction to students in individual and group activities to reinforce objectives and IEP plans.
• Performs other related duties to ensure efficient operation.
