North Shore School District 112 is seeking compassionate, dedicated Special Education Paraprofessionals to support students with diverse learning needs. Paraprofessionals work under the supervision of certified staff to provide academic, behavioral, and functional support that enables students to access learning and fully participate in their school community.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Paraprofessional or Substitute License required.

Responsibilities

• Supporting academic, behavioral, and functional skill development in whole-class, small-group, and individual settings.
• Implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) with fidelity.
• Collecting and documenting student progress using evidence-based data collection methods.
• Supporting students in general education and inclusive environments.
• Providing supervision during arrival, dismissal, transitions, and other designated times.
• Participating in ongoing progress reviews, as appropriate.
• Supporting the use of assistive technology and instructional materials.
• Supporting non-violent crisis intervention strategies (CPI) when necessary.
• Engaging in ongoing professional learning to strengthen instructional and support practices.
• Collaborating with teachers, specialists, administrators, and families to ensure a cohesive, student-centered experience.
• Addressing student, staff, and parent concerns in a professional and constructive manner.
• Performing other duties as assigned by an administrator.
