Job summary

Tooele County School District is seeking a paraprofessional to support special education in a classroom setting. Under supervision, you will assist certified staff with students to meet instructional goals and contribute to other educational program aspects.

You will reinforce reading and math skills, work with students individually or in small groups, and help with assessments and record-keeping. Travel between schools may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of college-level coursework or passing of examination as required by the No Child Left Behind Act.
• Prior experience working with students with special needs desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist and guide students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, and other skills.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning and implement programs.
• Assist professional staff in administration and correction of exercises, tests and assessments.
• Assist in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills.
• Document student learning and performance.
