Job summary

Tooele County School District is seeking a part-time Educational Assistant to support certified staff in working with students with special needs. The role emphasizes assisting with reading, language arts, mathematics, and computer instruction, and contributing to IEP objectives.

You will help with instructional activities, record-keeping, and behavior management, and may supervise non-instructional duties under supervision.

Qualifications

• Assists in reinforcing reading, language arts and mathematics skills.
• Supports individualized instruction and small-group work.
• Maintains records documenting student progress and performance.
• Assists with classroom behavioral management and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with reading, language arts, mathematics and computer instruction.
• Work with students individually and in small groups.
• Assist in administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
• Prepare instructional materials and reinforce skills per student needs.
• Document student progress through appropriate record-keeping.
• Support classroom behavior management to keep students on task.
