Job summary

Supplemental Health Care, Inc. is hiring paraprofessionals to work with teachers in partnering school districts to support students with special needs academically, socially, and emotionally.

You will help create an inclusive classroom where every student feels safe, capable, and valued, assisting one-on-one or in small groups and collaborating with staff. The role involves implementing behavior plans and IEP goals, mobility and personal-care support, and contributing to a positive learning

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent AND either a Passing Score on the ETS ParaPro Exam OR an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or at least two years of study (48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours).
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with children
• Prior experience working with children with special needs, physical/mental disabilities, or behavior management
• The ability to work collaboratively with existing staff
• Supporting students one-on-one or in small groups with classwork, communication, and daily routines
• Helping implement behavior plans and IEP goals with care and consistency
• Assisting students with special needs who may require help with mobility, personal care, or emotional regulation
• Creating a positive learning environment where all students can thrive
• Teaming up with teachers, therapists, and staff to make school a great place to be
• Willingness to assist with physical or behavioral needs as required

Responsibilities

• Assist with classroom activities and daily routines
• Implement behavior plans under supervision
• Support students one-on-one or in small groups
• Collaborate with teachers and therapists to support IEP goals
• Aid students with mobility and personal care when needed
• Create a positive, inclusive learning environment
• Contribute to student safety and well-being
