Job summary

Osseo Area Schools in Maple Grove, MN seeks a Special Education Paraprofessional to assist in the operation of the classroom for students with autism, under the supervision of the special education teacher. You will work with individual or small groups of students as directed to support communication and environment management.

Responsibilities include implementing instructional plans, collecting data, preparing materials, attending meetings, and ensuring compliance with HQ requirements.

Qualifications

• HQ status required by start date per Minnesota Department of Education.
• Two years of college credit (60 credits) or an associate’s degree qualifies.
• Passing score on the ParaPro, ParaEducator, or ParaPathwaysAssessment; district pays the assessment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing the students' instructional plans and manage physical/behavioral needs.
• Support implementation of individual plans in all program settings as directed by the supervising teacher.
• Collect observational data on assigned student(s) and report to the supervising teacher.
• Prepare, collect and maintain educational materials and equipment.
• Attend staffings, conferences and other meetings as requested by the supervising teacher.
• Complete educational forms and student data as directed by the teacher.
• Perform other duties deemed necessary by the team and approved by the Special Education Coordinator/Supervisor.
